Zonta
The multihued pelted canine ambled at a leisure pace, her pointed ears perked vertically atop of her head as her pale optics scanned the area around. Zonta had been on her own for nearly half a year and to her extent, she believed she was doing just fine. Other than the fact she hadn't come across many other wolves. The foliage around provided lots of cover for predators like herself, which always had set her on edge. The subtle noise of e vegetation crunching under-paw was oddly satisfying to Zonta, in which eased her muscular shoulders slightly.
A few rumbles erupted from her frame, not from her maw, but from her stomach. After roaming for a while she was quite hungry. Zonta tilted her cranium backward and inhaled, scents flooding her nostrils. She then pressed her murky brown nose to the earth's surface, occasionally stopping to check her surroundings.
Eventually, she stumbled across what she was looking for, a carcass. Other than the fact it was infested with flying insects, it was food. The fae scanned the area a few times before chowing down on the small meal. Occasionally glancing up.

WE ARE THE RECKLESS When our hearts were young! An our bodies were pure! And there was fewer days gone by Than to be had! V alentine woke up in a particular mood. His fur stood up on end as he stood up from his make-shift den and stretched. His joints and bones popped, his blood pumping and beginning to wake him up. Valentine made a mental agenda, today he was to leave this particular area he'd chosen, find some food and explore the territories of the two feuding packs. Whoever offered him a better deal he'd take. He didn't have any preference into where he'd stay as long as he was respected.
The pale coated brute started off on his journey. It didn't take him long to leave his area he'd 'claimed', the terrain soon started to change and the smells were unfamiliar to his nose. There was one in particular that intrigued him. It smelt like carrion, the second item on his list was soon to be crossed off. He settled into a trot, his paws gliding over foliage and rocks. He was able to hunt something for himself but he wasn't too pleased with the idea of wasting energy on a meal when there was one laying on the ground for him. As he ventured closer the vegetation started to get thicker and there was an underlying smell from the carrion. His nose told him it was a wolf, it'd be the first he'd seen since he'd left his pack. Or rather was forced to leave. He grumbled to himself, they just didn't realize what mistake they had made.
Valentine cautiously crept forward, until the carrion meat was insight along with a fae chomping away at it. His face briefly showed annoyance. If he was to put on a good front, then there was a chance he'd be allowed to grab the left-overs. If things went south, Valentine would bare his teeth until the she-wolf gave up whatever scraps were left. Or maybe he'd just count his loses and move on. Depended on how he was feeling and how she spoke to him. He strode out in front of her, head held slightly higher than normal. "Hello." Valentine eyed the female carefully. "I haven't seen you around before." |

Zonta
The she-wolf released a cluster of air through her nostrils as her viridescent opticals departed from the surrounding greens to the pale-hued lad that stood before her. "Hello," she greeted briefly, gaze locked onto his. Her auditories swiveled to every noise. Eye's tracing the horizon's line, her patience growing dull by the minute. "Ah, where are my manners? I'm Zonta," she introduced herself with a simple nod. She could potentially use an ally, maybe even a friend. Her options were to rise and disregard the situation completely without another word or stay and play her deck. Though her irritation was gradually fading, she still stood tensed, rolling her shoulders occasionally to ease the contracting muscles. She knew what he was there for, the food. Perhaps she would share, but she wouldn't just hand over the snack that easily. If the opposing assumed loner had caught her just a day or two prior she wouldn't give up the carcass at all. Maybe she would've even put up a fuss about it all. Zonta knew how difficult it was to catch a meal out there, let alone find one. Which was part of the reason she wanted to keep the food for herself, but sympathy loomed over. But before she backed away, she wanted to at least become acquainted with the brute.

WE ARE THE RECKLESS When our hearts were young! An our bodies were pure! And there was fewer days gone by Than to be had! T he female seemed nice enough, she greeted him well, respectfully. Valentine lowered his head, venturing closer. "Valentine." He said simply. Her name was Zonta, she appeared to be a loner just as he was. There was no smell of a pack anywhere upon her. That was good, he'd hate to have a hoard of wolves on him if he made a wrong move. There was only so much attention he could handle. "Zonta. How are you? Do you happen to live nearby?" Small talk was something he was not used to at all. His conversation skills may have gotten rusty in his time alone. Talking to just himself probably did that. "I'm rather new to the area. I've been traveling on my own for some time, it's nice to see a new face." He attempted to give her a light tone of voice but at parts it seemed monotonous. Valentine was truly trying, but his mind and belly was focused on the food in front of him. Perhaps she would be kind to him and see how hungry he was and offer him even a small piece. That'd be enough to send him on his way and out of her hair. He could do with a companion though. Someone to chat with as he went about his day, atleast for a little while, until he made his decision on continuing to live alone of joining a pack. The latter was the most probable outcome. |

Zonta
Licking the remaining crimson from her chops, she began to speak, "I usually wander place to place, not really claiming anything as my own, considering there is still so much to explore," she remarked, "and you?" Zonta asked, cocking her brow. She exhaled inaudibly as she continually shifted her paws. Occasionally, she glanced to the surrounding pines. Though serenity laced her tone she had not yet set aside her what-ifs. Zonta lifted her charcoal smudged muzzle slightly, allowing the scents to dance about her sniffer once more. Now that she was almost sure he was by himself she relaxed even more, allowing her rosy ribbon to slip from between her chops. It was just the start of summer and the morning's cooler temperatures had started fading. During the afternoon she lied under the canopies of pines, per usual.

WE ARE THE RECKLESS When our hearts were young! An our bodies were pure! And there was fewer days gone by Than to be had! V alentine chuffed. "Any land I have claimed means nothing to me now. They were too desolate for my tastes. I simply took them just because I could. I've traveled to another land, this one, in hopes of something more permanent. Something I can truly call a home." In his travels, he had seen a fair share of lands, some of them he scented to make it as his own, others he simply passed right through. He never stayed in them too long. He got too lonely, being in such a large place on his own. "Do you know of the packs here? The Valiant Creek and the Ketsumei? Could you happen to spare any information you may have? I don't have much to offer but if you'd like something in return, I am more than happy to accommodate you." His icy blue eyes scanned the area behind Zonta. So far he hadn't seen anything suspicious but he played it safe by keeping up his guard, staying a reasonable distance away. His eyes returned to the fae and he narrowed them, awaiting her response. |
